This is an excellent Atlanta Dating Idea. This Atlanta attraction is right at 2 hours outside of Atlanta making it a perfect one day road trip. Anna Ruby Falls is a casual fairly low impact short hike. The hike at less than a 1/2 mile has a steep enough grade to feel a bit challenged, but it is paved, and easily hiked, and well rewarded at the end with a set of awesome twin waterfalls which can be viewd from a few large deck areas.
Being at a high elevation and standing at the foot of the falls gives off a blast of cool air almost as though standing in front of mother natures own air conditioner. The entire trail runs along a nice cascading mountain stream leading up to the falls, there is also a nice visitors center with a small gift shop. There is a deck overlooking a portion of the mountain stream just behind the gift shop where visitors can feed large trout.
If you want to make a day of it, bring food. There are a handful of picnic tables and grills just to the right and down stream stream from the visitors center that are very well shaded, and set just along the cascading mountain river. This is one of the most beutiful and peaceful picnic areas I have ever been to in the North Ga. Mountains.
There is a minimal parking fee, and the hours of operation vary with the seasons, so make sure and check their website to insure access.
