The Taste of Atlanta Festival is an event that is held annually in the Midtown area. Usually towards the end of October. (Check thier website for next event)
Think food, food, drink, and then more food. This entire event is focused on highlighting some of the very best dining opportunities Atlanta has to offer. This event continues to grow, and makes for a perfect fall day out with a date.
The general concept is that you purchase a ticket to get into the festival, and included in the admission fee you receive stamps, which you use, like cash at your chosen vendors tent for sample of their foods.
I have a big appetite, and the stamps they gave me as part of my admission filled me up with samples from Atlanta restaurants menu items. One really nice thing about this festival is that it gives visitors the opportunity to sample menu items from some of Atlanta’s most exquisite restaurants all in one place, and for a relatively low price.
The environment is very festive with vendors, and guests having food discussions, regularly scheduled cooking demonstrations, all with the background music of locale radio tents presenting their music styles.
There are a handful of just general Atlanta Company’s with booths set up giving out promotional trinkets such as pens, cup holders, and koozies.
The festival starts winding down around 6:00, which makes for the perfect time to take a less than 10 minute drive over to the hipster style hang out over to Little Five Points to finish out a nice Atlanta Style date.
